The Heraldry Society of New Zealand (HSNZ) is the principal New Zealand learned society concerned with the scholarly study of armorial bearings, the law of arms, heralds, and officers of arms. The society was established in 1962. It was known as The Heraldry Society (New Zealand Branch) until November 2007. The HSNZ is now operationally and constitutionally completely independent of The Heraldry Society.
Onward, named after the motto in New Zealand’s original Coat of Arms until 1956, is the official blog of the HSNZ. Its aim is to keep both members and non-members informed of the latest news, views and events concerning the world of heraldry, but with a particular focus on heraldry in New Zealand.
It’s a place where members can share their thoughts, interests and opinions about heraldry in New Zealand, and around the world.
